Welcome from the Athletic Director

Welcome from the Athletic Director

Welcome to the Glynn County Schools Athletic Department

Thank you for visiting the Glynn County Schools athletic web-site. I am honored to serve as the Athletic Director for the Glynn County School System. Growing up in Glynn County and being a product of Glynn County Schools, I care deeply about our athletic programs, student-athletes and coaches in Glynn County. As a former athlete, I was fortunate to learn from so many great coaches and I feel strongly that athletics teaches us so much about life and builds character, discipline, a solid work ethic, and self- esteem. High School and Middle School athletics also teaches us team concepts and how to work together for the good of the team. In Glynn County, we have a passionate community and our fan base is very supportive of our overall athletic programs. We appreciate your support and we encourage you to continue supporting our programs, student-athletes, and coaches. While we always want to put a winning product on the field, we also want to develop young men and women of character and integrity.

The Glynn County School System offers High School sports for our student athletes to participate in including: football, fast pitch softball, cross country, volleyball, cheerleading, wrestling, swimming, soccer, basketball, baseball, track, tennis, golf, riflery, debate, one-act play and literary events. Each team participates in the Georgia High School Association. All eligibility requirements and rules are set by the Georgia High School Association. Eligibility is handled by the coach of each sport and the athletic coordinator at each school. All High School Athletes must have a current physical and must be academically eligible to participate in athletics.

Our Middle School programs offer 9 sports for our student athletes to participate in including football, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, track, volleyball, wrestling and cheerleading. Middle School Eligibility is handled by the Head Coach of each sport. All Middle School athletes must have a current physical and must be academically eligible to participate in athletics.

Participation is athletics is a privilege and not a right. We expect our coaches to hold our student athletes to high standards inside and outside of the classroom. All athletes have to earn playing time and playing time is determined by the Head Coach. It is important to remember that athletics should not interfere with academic progress and it requires a lot of time to maintain good grades and play a sport. While being a true student athlete requires a dedicated work ethic, the lifelong values that are taught through athletics will certainly benefit students throughout their lives.

The high school and middle school athletic programs are funded by the gate receipts collected at the various athletic contests. The season ticket packages provide a savings throughout the school year on admission to home athletic events (exlcudes region and state playoffs). Information on tickets and ticket prices can be found on our web site.

Thank You for your support of athletics in the Glynn County School System.
